Entrepreneurship was part of my life long before I started my own business.
Growing up around a family business gave me an early understanding of entrepreneurship. I saw firsthand the responsibility that comes with building a company, serving customers and creating opportunities for others. Looking back, it probably explains why I feel so connected to the challenges CEOs face today.
My perspective on growth was shaped even further by experiences outside business.
As a child, I underwent seven brain surgeries. In 2023, I chose to undergo a preventive mastectomy with DIEP flap reconstruction and had my ovaries removed because I carry the BRCA1 gene.
Experiences like these have a way of changing how you look at time.
Not because they make you less ambitious, but because they make you realise that time and energy are finite resources. Resources that deserve to be invested consciously.
As a single mother, that perspective became even more important. I love what I do and I am deeply ambitious, but I also know that building a successful business should never come at the expense of everything else that matters.
For a long time, I believed growth was about doing more. Working harder. Solving more problems. Staying involved in everything. But over time, I realised that this approach eventually creates its own limitations.
Growth should not create more dependency. It should create more options.
More room to think strategically. More ownership within the team. More clarity around decisions. More space to focus on the things that truly move a business forward.
That belief has shaped the way I work with CEOs today.
Over the years, I started seeing the same pattern in many growing companies.
Successful businesses becoming increasingly dependent on the people who built them. Decisions, knowledge and responsibility gradually become concentrated around one person, often without anyone noticing.
That is where my personal experiences and professional work started to come together. Because sustainable growth should not make a company more dependent on its CEO.
I don't help CEOs work less. I help them build a company that depends less on them, so they can spend their time and energy where they create the most value.
